2022 Education Focus Report

New research and insights into the future of education and personalized learning

Education continues evolving as schools and districts innovate with the technology that made learning possible during the global pandemic. While some schools have already glimpsed the future with advanced student support tools and improved home communication, many find themselves just embarking on their journey.

In this report, we explore educators’ vision of PK-12 education in the coming years, their top priorities for getting there, and how technology can help. We share our findings in this original PowerSchool research informed by educational thought leaders, technology experts, and classroom educators.

After surveying thousands of educators and scanning strategic plans from 25 districts nationwide, we found eye-opening trends and challenges like:

  • 2 out of 3 educators feel they don’t have enough time to make data-driven instructional improvements
  • Less than 50% of educators say their district uses technology to effectively support talent needs
  • 7 in 10 educators report student mental health support as a district priority

The 2022 Education Focus Report contains insights and analysis from our research into how districts across the U.S. weathered the many changes and new challenges of the last two years. Learn how your school or district compares and get new ideas and proof points for the road ahead.
